Surgical Services

At some point in most people's lives, they will encounter a health problem that requires the need for surgery.
At Republic County Hospital we are able to provide for your scheduled surgical procedures as well as those unexpected emergencies. With our two operating suites, our pre/post anesthesia care unit, and our 24-hour on call specially trained staff, we will provide for your surgical needs.
Surgical Staff:
With our team of Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Trauma Nurse Core certified Registered Nurses, scrub technicians, anesthetists, central sterilizing technician, and eight physicians performing surgical procedures on a regular basis, we are able to provide care for pediatric to geriatric patients.
Whether you are having an outpatient procedure or one that requires admission to the hospital for an inpatient stay, our surgical staff will work with you to meet your healthcare needs.

Our staff meets with each patient before surgery to review their health history and previous surgical experiences. We also provide education to help you know what to expect before and after your surgical procedure and how long your expected stay will be at Republic County Hospital.

The surgeons at Republic County Hospital do a number of open as well as laparoscopic (Lap) surgical procedures. A partial listing of the surgical procedures performed at Republic County Hospital includes, but is not limited to:

Anesthesia:
Anesthesia services are provided by a team of Certified Nurse Anesthetists. Services range from conscious sedation to general and spinal anesthetic and epidural blocks. Epidural steroid injections are also provided for the management of back pain.
Prior to any procedure requiring anesthesia, one of the Republic County Hospital providers will conduct an evaluation to determine the best form of anesthesia for your needs and to discuss any concerns you may have.
