Cardiac Rehabilitation

Taking Your Recovery To Heart

Every heart matters here at Republic County Hospital. You can be assured you'll receive the best care possible. Cardiac rehab is a medically supervised program designed to help improve your cardiovascular health if you have experienced a heart attack, heart failure, angioplasty, or heart surgery. It has three equally important parts:

Exercise Counseling & Training: Exercise gets your heart pumping and your entire cardiovascular system working. We'll show you how to get your body moving in ways that promote heart health.
Education For Heart-Healthy Living: Managing your risk factors, choosing good nutrition, quitting smoking, etc. Education about heart-healthy living is a key element of Cardiac Rehab.
Stress Reduction: Stress hurts your heart. This part of rehab helps you identify and tackle everyday sources of stress.

Cardiac Rehab is a team effort - you don't have to face heart disease alone. It's a program in which you partner with your doctors, respiratory therapists, nurses, pharmacists - plus family and friends - to take charge of the choices, lifestyle, and habits that affect your heart.

Benefits Of Cardiac Rehab:

Lower your risk of heart problems
Improve your diet
Weight loss
Become more active and engaged
Reduce stress
Enhance the quality of your life
