Radiology receives a new Ultrasound machine!
We have recently updated our ultrasound machine to a Philips Epiq 5. The former ultrasound machine was purchased in 2002 and the technology had become outdated. The image quality on the new machine is a vast improvement from that of the old machine. With our new machine we are able to provide services that we previously could not provide such as 3D/4D OB ultrasounds. We are now able to offer these ultrasounds every weekday for a nominal fee that includes a printed 3D image, a disc containing all your images, and gender checks if requested.
Since the purchase of the new machine, we have added a registered vascular technologist who will be able to provide increased availability to our vascular ultrasounds and a cardiac ultrasound technologist to provide echocardiograms. In the past we relied on a contracted vendor with limited services available weekly.
Republic County Hospital's Radiology Department is able to accept written orders from any appropriately credentialed healthcare provider. It you are seeing an out-of-town provider but would prefer to have your ancillary services performed closer to home to save time and money, you can simply request that these exams be done through us. We are happy to provide a wide array of services to our community. If you have any questions please contact us at Republic County Hospital at 785-527-2254.
