
Republic County Hospital respiratory care therapists evaluate, treat and care for patients with breathing disorders, on a one-on-one basis, with sensitivity to the physical and psychological needs of the residents of North Central Kansas and South Central Nebraska.
The Respiratory Department is JCAHO accredited and the Blood Gas Laboratory Services is CLIA Certified and JCAHO accredited.

Patient Care
Services
Patient care services performed by
RCH Respiratory Therapists treat all types of patients, ranging from
newborns to elderly people. RCH RTs provide temporary relief to
patients with chronic asthma or emphysema and emergency care services to
inpatients, outpatients and nursing home residents. RCH Respiratory
Care department also offers the extended services of 24 hour Holter
monitoring, pulmonary function testing, arterial/venous blood gases, and
assisting with all obstetrical deliveries including immediate neonatal
assessment and care. RT staff is also in attendance of code blue and
ventilator patients.

Respiratory Staff
& Hours
The RCH RT is headed by Dr. Walker
and and the Blood Gas Laboratory is headed by RCH Laboratory Services
Supervisor and Director. Other personnel consist of three full-time,
two part-time, and three p.r.n. therapists.
The Respiratory Care is a 24-hour in-house department operating seven
days a week. Our regular hours are from Sunday to Saturday 7 a.m.-7
p.m. After hours coverage is provided by on-call therapists.
