Healthcare Education


Republic County Hospital encourages you to take an active part in your healthcare and it is because of this that we strive to meet your educational needs. Republic County Hospital is proud to have a number of our employees trained as American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR), First Aide, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP), and Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) instructors. Listed below is a partial list of educational opportunities available at Republic County Hospital.

Facility Tours


Organizations and schools are encouraged to participate in facility tours. Facility tours can be tailored to meet the needs and expectations of the specific group participating. If you wish to arrange a tour, please contact the Education department by calling 785-527-6063.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR-basic life support)


Basic life support courses are provided on an as needed basis by employees that are specially trained American Heart Association instructors. Republic County Hospital serves as a community training site for the American Heart Association and can assist you in obtaining this life saving training. American Heart Association First Aide


This course is provided on an as needed basis. This course is typically helpful to hunters, bus drivers, and childcare providers. Please call 785-527-6063 for information on fees and schedules.

Professional Education


The primary purpose of the Education Department of Republic County Hospital is to provide opportunities for personnel to gain additional skills and knowledge necessary to perform their assigned functions safely and effectively. Achievement of this goal is an important contribution to the delivery of quality health care at Republic County Hospital. Republic County Hospital is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Kansas State Board of Nursing and as such offers courses for continued Nursing Education (CNE). we also work closely with Cloud County Community College and the Northwest Kansas Area Health Education Center to provide for all our nursing education needs as well as the needs of the other members of our healthcare team including Physical and Occupational Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, and Radiology.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)


This course is offered on a semi-annual basis according to American Heart Association standards. Please call 785-527-6063 for information on fees and schedules.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)


This course is offered on a semi-annual basis according to the American Academy of Pediatrics. Please call 785-527-6063 for information on fees and schedules.

Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)


This course is offered on a semi-annual basis. Registered Nurses interested in obtaining their International Certification in Trauma Nursing should call 785-527-6063 for information on fees and schedules.
